The time is drawing closer for even more luscious information to be revealed about Alice: Madness Returns, and there are numerous ways in which we will ensure that your every (reasonable) curiosity is satisfied.
However, in the spirit of that, we’d like to know what YOU would ask if you could sit down with our developers and creators. We will be conducting interviews very soon, and while we will be covering the general range of questions that are burning in everyone’s mind (who’s doing the music, why the Unreal 3 engine, which characters will be returning), there has to be something else you’d like to know.
Remember that we’ll be speaking with every department from programmers to level designers to sound design and beyond. You can ask about nearly anything (though immensely personal questions probably won’t make the cut), and the best questions will be included in the interviews, and we might even mention your name.
Time is running out, however. Get your questions submitted soon in the comments here or take part in the discussion on the forum.

my question is… if all goes well with Alice: Madness Returns, can we fans be looking forward to a possible Alice 3 in the future???
thanx again, u r awesome bye xD
Hi! I would like to know if there are any plans to re-release the original Alice before this one is released? I would love to replay the original.
Also, as a dev myself, I’d be interested to know a bit about the development process – how many devs are on the team? Do you use an agile or waterfall method of project planning? How many lines of code make up the game and how long did it take to develop? Were you able to reuse any code/assets from the first game? (I have many more but that will do!)
Cheers!
If Alice 2 is successful, could there potentially be a remake of the first game?
Hello!
My question is that I had heard rumors of a American McGee Alice based movie a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. So with the release of the new game pending, would productions of the movie resume or be completly rewritten due to the new game?
Which part of the game recieve more attention?
Levels design or fighting through?
Will Chris Vrenna once more be providing his signature, chilling score? Also, are there any plans to release that very early work I hear was done with Marilyn Manson, but later scrapped? It’s rumored that he wanted to use these leftovers in Phantasmagoria, but nothing’s come of that project yet. Are you at liberty to tell us about any of this (wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more)?
Cheers, American–I’ve been waiting for this sequel for almost a decade! Thanks always.
I’d like to know if some parts of the game will be set in the real world, so that we might know what happens there, while we explore the mind of Alice.
They could be some kind of short “nightmare sequences” where bits and parts of “reality” start to replace Wonderland and where we see what is happening at the same time in the real world, or some flashbacks about what happend between Alice 1 and 2.
For the developers: How do you find the balance between enemies that are too easy to kill, and enemies that are too hard, including finding the right number of enemies to put into any given situation in the game?
My question goes toward the sounds of the game. I’m interested to know if Chris Vrenna will be doing the soundtrack again. His score for the first title was “the icing on the cake” and I was wondering if he would be returning.
Also I am interested in knowing if there would be a re-release of the original, perhaps reworked for consoles or released on steam for PC.
ok… i have played the first game about 6-7 years ago so i know whats happend then. my question is….
will alice get new scary transforms like she had in the first game? *her Devil Alice and Fly Alice*
System requirements are very important. Will the game be developed more towards the higher end pc’s running the latest and greatest video cards, processors, etc, or will the game be tweaked so that the lower to mid range user will be able to enjoy the game just as much. Having auto detect in regards to best performance would be a nice idea. Thank you for your time..
In the trailer for the game you see various bits and pieces placed around the room e.g Cat skeleton, jarred caterpillar, a skeleton with a half suit/half top hat, Jabberwocky on the tea set, ect. Does this mean, although they’re dead, they’ll be resurected, or still have some significant role in Alice’s trip back to Wonderland?
The question that’s been wracking my brain the most is, who is composing the soundtrack? Also, if it’s not too personal, what sinister character is going to be the main antagonist? And finally, will there still be a cheat console for this game?
Will Roger Jackson be returning to voice the Cheshire Cat?
Hello!
My question is about the games largeness. Are there going to be more levels in Alice: Madness Returns, than there was in the original Alice? I also have a question about the card guards: who came up with the idea that the card guards should have skull heads? They look really cool on the screenshots! Thank you!
Will there be new toy weapons for Alice?
Thank you
obviously the original game was near flawless for when it was released, with the current era of gaming how have you tried to modernise the game so it’s as unique as the first.
Just wondering if any of the level’s environment would be like that of the end levels of the original ALICE, where things like walls and such appeared like they were made of human organ tissue or substances. That was always a really interesting feature of the original, creating the feel that Wonderland was ‘inside’ of Alice.
If the ‘real’ world is incorporated into the game, will Alice beable to interact with people, say, her therapist?
Thanks!
Hello.
My question is,how old is Alice at this point in the game? She was 17 during the first one,but how many years have gone by? And what is the name of her Therapist?
out of sheer curiosity, i am one who is looking into any kind of artwork career, writing/story, and or actor, i’m curious on how the process of making the game comes along, is it like some anime where the plans r drawn, and then taken to life with the artwork. i would like to know alot on how the acting for the characters goes along, do they just hop in the booth and read their lines, or do they get to learn the story and more on their character before the acting begins. i was wondering if after the game comes out, if you could release an insider, behind the work video of how everything is worked on and completed at the site.
How did you think of the design for the characters? (Mainly the Cheshire cat) And how are they improved in “Alice: Madness Returns” ?
Someone already asked this, but is Chris helping with the soundtrack again? Also, are any voice actors from the first one returning? Regardless of the answers to those questions I will be buying this game in a heartbeat!
What inspired the design of the levels, the themes, and incorporated puzzles in Alice 2 outside of the original source material?
-Studying Interactive Entertainment (Game Design) so this would be interesting and helpful-
will they remake the original with improved graphic and release it on the xbox360 and ps3?
Is there going to be a standard “third-person view” or an “over-shoulder view”? Thank you!
This may sound odd, but were the level designers inspired at all by the Tim Burton version of Alice in
Wonderland? It looked as though there were several elements from the movie that were used in the game, like the curls used in the structures in the Queensland area.
What are the system requirements for the game, and around how much will it cost?
I am in despreat need to know the answer to the preveously asked question:
Will the voices(if not all then which ones) be the same as the first game? Most importantly, will the Cheshire Cat’s be the same?
Thank you :3
Their will be Multi language Versions of alice madness returns? Include Chinese and Korean?
Will the game have multiple difficulty & great replay value?
My question is, in the first game their were few NPC’s and almost zero interaction with most of them, the gnome-like people in the beginning for instance, will there be more NPC interaction this time around?
Also, is a raven like a writing desk because their is a bee in both and an eye in neither?
Will any of the levels be in London?
Will there be new characters added? and will the red queen be back? and how many levels will there be?
Action figures! Merchandising! What is planned and what can we look forward to spending our hard earned dollars on?
Question: any chance to redo the original story … with the new graphic engine for the new Alice? The Fungiferus Forest would look amazing with PS3 graphics for example; and the Skool levels would be amazing too. Maybe a fan tool so that some dedicated fan can produce this?
Helloo!
This beautiful game will be a “line-short-history” OR a “open-longer-history”? Oh! And will we know more about the “Alice-deep-dark-history”, right? Thank you.
Will physics be integrated as a story telling feature or primarily for puzzles and such.
cheers!
Just saying I love everything you do – But my head is dripping with questions, my mind full of curiosity. (Yes- curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back)
So one of the main questions that I want to have answered is – Will the part of how exactly Alice went back insane, the end of the first one she had slain all that was tormenting wonderland, saving her life, and her mind for the moment. So what exactly did the outside world do to return Alice to the madness? What was eating her from the outside in, as happened in the first game.
♥Please put my curiosity to rest♥
I’d like to start off by saying that I am uber excited for this game and have been waiting nigh on 10 years for this sequel to be released. Thank you American & co. for following through and satiating our hunger for this twisted Wonderland
Anyway, I have a couple questions: first, when can we expect to see some character design art? I’d love to see how all of the inhabitants of wonderland have been revamped, the card guards in the screen shots look amazing. Next, will the voice cast of Madness Returns be introduced before the game’s release? I’m crossing my fingers in hopes that the cast from the previous game has returned, but either way I can’t wait to find out who did the acting. Also, who composed the soundtrack for the game this time around? Anybody well-known? And will we be able to catch a sample of it prior to the game’s release? To repeat a few others’ question, what sort of weapons can we expect to see in Alice’s arsenal? I personally hope the ice wand will also make a return to madness because it’s the best. And finally, to echo another question, will this game have a cheat console like the original? After replaying the game countless times, it’s fun to experiment with noclip and infinite ammo
That’s pretty much it, thanks for listening to our questions American and every from Spicy Horse!
I have a few questions, maybe they are already answered but here are they: Chris Vrenna will return as the composer and sound designer and/or supervisor? That would be very nice. What surprises will be in the Collector’s Edition? Mention one or say something about it. Are there gonna be “Extras” after you beat the game? Like secrets revealed, interviwes, “making of…” casting, meaning of the metaphors, etc.
Thank you very much and the best of wishes, American McGee, Spicy Horse staff and EA.
A question: There will be new characters that are not from Lewis’ Carrol story?
Which environment, level, or series of levels was the most satisfying to construct?
Along similar lines… how many different puzzle types are going to be included (logic, word games, agility, lever-by-lever process?) and which was the most satisfying to “piece” together?
Not looking for spoilers but the atmosphere you create is undeniably impressive and coupled with compelling and dynamic game-play, this could easily be my most anticipated game release ever.
Thank you for considering my questions
