The long-awaited China trip update – Alice: Madness Returns and Spicy Pony news
on October 25th, 2010 at 3:49 pm
Forgive the lengthy silence. The trip to Shanghai, though awesome in all ways, kicked my toucash in a most serious fashion and I spent most of last week in bed with the flu. I’m pretty sure I got it from the Romanian guy on the plane on the way back.
But that’s not important right now. What you want to know is… how did it go?
I am delighted to report that the rumors of what Alice: Madness Returns may or may not be have been greatly understated (if we’re talking about the rumors that said it looked incredible). Having played through a number of levels, I can safely state without reservation that this is going to rock your face off in a most sincere fashion. (That’s the last I’ll say about that for a while
And for the interviews? They went very, very well, but we will not be releasing them until after the first of the year. Before I hear all of the boo-hooing, rest assured that I have something else in mind for you between now and then.
A few “something elses”, actually.
First, we are very close to releasing our first interactive book from Spicy Pony for the iPad, a Japanese-flavored tale called Akaneiro. I will be bringing you some juicy details from that very soon, including a short podcast of the first few pages being narrated.
Second – don’t forget about the Costume Contest! You only have through next Monday to get those pictures submitted!
And, we have yet another Twitter feed you can follow @spicy_horse. @TheWhiteRabbit is only for Alice-related things, but @spicy_horse will be for all things within the studio – and there is more out there. Just you wait and see. ;-)
Finally, we will be making major changes to the Spicy Horse Art store very shortly, including adding some new Alice imagery. Don’t click just yet! I’ll let you know when.

Alice was a cool game- did some phenomenal stuff with the Quake 3 engine..
But I say, after yer done with the new Alice– dive into something really wacky and new.. maybe even something with some sino mysticism or something in it since ya live in China these days…
