As you may recall, last week was indeed a Friday the 13th – one that backfired horribly.  The karmic debt was paid immediately: the evil and vicious riddle turned out to be the wrong one (an error noticed only after the shaky demise of source laptop), so another week was purchased before the next onslaught.

So, instead of a riddle today, here’s a recap of our nefarious schemings:

There is something of a pre-order blitz going on right now:

  • If you pre-order Alice: Madness Returns as a digital download through the EA site, you will get the original American McGee’s Alice (remastered) as part of the “Complete Collection”.
  • If you buy the Xbox or Playstation 3 version from anywhere, you’ll get a one-time-use code to download the original American McGee’s Alice for play on the respective consoles.
  • If you pre-order and purchase the new game through Amazon or Gamestop, you’ll get the soundtrack (by Jason Tai) as a free bonus, including an extra track by Chris Vrenna.  (If you pre-ordered before this offer was made, worry not: you’re still going to get the code to download the soundtrack for free.)
  • There will be modification packs available after the release through the EA store, including different costumes and weapons

And then there is our growing merchandise offerings:

As though these weren’t awesome enough, there are a number of different contest also going on:

  • The weekly puzzle contest is keeping our e-kids off the streets and out of trouble until Alice: Madness Returns launches on June 14, 2011.  We’re on Puzzle 6 right now, and the prizes range from t-shirts from the original Alice game to copies of the art book to the toy collectibles from Alice and Oz.
  • We have this really amazing art show coming up the week of E3 in Los Angeles, and the opening night – June 8th, 2011 – offers the opportunity for a handful of die-hard fans to get on the guest list for this invitation-only event.  All you have to do is answer three questions in a compelling and persuasive manner to win my heart to your cause.
  • There is also an opportunity for the members of our forum (and, yes, if you register at any point in time on the forum, you qualify) to get a guest blog spot right here on the main website.  The key is to tell us how Alice has affected you, what it has meant to you as more than just a game.

So, there are lots of things going on, and we’ll likely be continuing the festivities even after the game launches in June.  After all, the love does not end when you finally get to play the game – we all know, that’s just where it starts.
