My long time buddy Alex just informed me of the updated release of his Mac-based video compression tool called “3ivxCrush“; as he describes it:

Whatever that means. He babbles on…
…uses all the processors in multi processor macs. Converts videos to .mp4 as fast as possible, as small as possible and at the best quality possible.
Sounds to me like a really complicated way of saying “makes all your porn movies smaller”, but then what do I know? I’m stuck in an airport waiting for my flight, I figured now was as good a time as any to deliver the news. If you don’t like what you see, blame Alex. I always do.

That’s a big and annoying problem indeed.
I haven’t ever used the MAC System, but I also can feel the seriousness of this Video format problem on my Windows System. MPEG, AVI, MP4, 3GP, RMVB, H.246……etc. That makes me bored with them. I would have to install kinds of decode and encode tools for my windows, even so, there are still some can’t be played successfully.
When can we have a unified and top-quality format? If not, just give us not more than 3.
